NY-26: How Effective are Those Television Ads?
by Matt at Aug 30th, 2008
Yesterday, while I was watching the news about John McCain picking Sarah Palin as his running mate, I happen to see all three of the latest television ads from Jon Powers, Jack Davis, and Alice Kryzan.
I have to say, in the context of a commercial break, Kryzan’s ad is very effective. For one thing, it doesn’t look like a typical political ad. It is bright and pretty much a positive ad, despite the unflattering depictions of Powers and Davis. But what really makes it effective is that when you see the ads all in the same commercial break the truth of Kryzan’s ad really speaks for itself. The negative ads of Powers and Davis support the message of Kryzan’s ad — and makes both of them look even worse.
Davis and Powers should be running ads that focus on why Democrats should vote for them in the primary instead of ads attacking eachother. As long as they continue running negative ads that ignore Kryzan’s presence in the race then the only one that looks looks good in the Democratic primary is Alice Kryzan.
