Democrats Welcome Back Espada

Democrats Welcome Back Espada

And so it ends… Now the Democrats have both Monserrate and Espada back. With the “wife beater and a lying, vacillating cheat” back in line, the Democrats have a majority again.

Sen. Pedro Espada, the Bronx Democrat who joined with Republicans June 8 in a coup, flipped back to the Democratic conference this afternoon.

The Senate met in a special session about 3 p.m. today with the new alliance going home to get his pacemaker adjusted, a Senate Democrat said.

Espada will be given the title of majority leader in the Democratic conference in a deal worked out with Sen. John Sampson of Brooklyn, the Democratic conference leader. The two men were seen huddling Wednesday in an Albany hotel restaurant.

Anything for power huh?

Okay. It’s done. Let’s move on. Let’s just let the Democrats fail on their own as the majority party. With the Democrats having total control, Republicans will have a much easier task making the case for new leadership in the next elections.

In fact, Democrats will likely make the case for them.
