In the past couple weeks, I’ve caught two of Jack Davis’s radio spots on my way home from work. Audio of the first one is posted on his website… and its a musical number so you can listen to it and read the lyrics.
The second one, which I just heard today, apparently isn’t on the website yet, but sounded like a parody of “Build Me Up Buttercup,” originally performed by The Foundations — but I could be wrong. I could barely understand the lyrics, and only barely managed to catch Jack Davis’s name.
I know the guy has plenty of money to spend, but there are a lot more effective uses of a 60-second radio spot. It makes it so much harder to take the message seriously when it’s done entirely to a melody.
UPDATE, July 21, 2008: Buffalo Pundit catches the “Build Me Up Buttercup” Ad…
